This place is SUCH a hidden gem in San Marcos. We were blown away by the freshness and incredible combo of flavors each fish and roll had to offer!!! Their Sushi Combo B ($36) which comes with 8pcs of sushi and one speciality roll is perfect if you want a balance of nigiris and a roll! Each piece of fish was sooo good!! Another great shareable item if you wanna treat yourself a bit is their Sashimi Combo A ($21) which has 9 pcs of sashimi (salmon, tuna and yellowtail)...not exaggerating but im obsessed w their salmon and yellowtail Other rolls we really liked: -Mexican roll $13 -New York roll $15 -Red dragon roll $15 -Nordahl roll $17 If you're a big popcorn chicken fan from TapEx, the karaage from Sushi On kind of resembles that, and I LOVE IT!!! I used to not like rolls because I felt like often times there were too much fillers and it was always average, BUT at Sushi On, it feels like they have unique takes and flavors in their rolls that is not only super good and enjoyable but also at a fair price. Their specialty rolls are on average $15-$16! Can't wait to come back!
Tried Sushi On in San Marcos and really enjoyed it. The sushi was fresh and nicely presented, with a good variety of rolls and nigiri. The portions were generous, and the flavors balanced well without being too heavy. Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere felt casual but modern, making it a nice spot for both a quick bite or a sit-down dinner. Prices were fair for the quality, and we’ll definitely come back to try more of the specialty rolls.
Busy, family friendly, fresh fish We arrived during it like Happy hour and they were very kind enough to remind us. The happy hour menu was pretty legit. With gyoza, two different deep fried rolls and two other rolls along with edamame and one or two other options. I also got a large hot sake for $5.99. Well worth it. My son got the rainbow roll and the only reason there's not a photo of it is he ate it too quick. My daughter got the tuna takaki and we all agree the sushi was very fresh but she Just didn't care for it the way only an 8-year-old can change their mind. She had a second round of gyoza and said it was the best she'd have ever had. And she's had a lot. Husband and I split the spicy tuna roll from the happy hour menu and it was definitely worth the price. I got the lemon flash and it was super refreshing with the lemon sliced so thin. It was barely there. Just enough to leave a really refreshing taste on top of the salmon. Husband was craving something deep fried and I don't remember what he got but he said it was great. It was mildly loud and very busy. There were two TVs playing some kind of reality TV tuna catching show. There were two bathrooms and they were both clean with lots of supplies. There was one waitress taking care of the whole restaurant and she seemed very experienced. Even in the weeds she kept track of all the orders and was very friendly to my children. There were a lot of kids there and none of them seemed upset. I would absolutely go again, especially during happy hour.
We tried multiple sushi restaurants in the north county area but this is the best spot. The sashimi is so fresh and the mango salmon roll is very balanced! The chicken katsu meat is also very tender and the coating is crispy. All the staff were friendly and the service was prompt. I would definitely go here again.
this sushi spot! We went on a busy Saturday and the place was packed, but the staff still greeted us with a smile and friendly eye contact. The owner even came over to say hi and showed us to our table, which made us feel really welcome. One of the main reasons we keep coming back is the fresh, high-quality sushi and the generous portions. No matter how often we eat here, we never get tired of it. The service is always great — the staff checked in often and brought us whatever we needed without us having to ask. Even when we were leaving, they made sure to send us off with a cheerful goodbye. Great food, great people — definitely one of our go-to places for sushi!
I love this place! Sushi was fresh, staff were friendly, and service was amazing! I highly recommend calamari tempura and mushroom special. The salmon sashimi was exceptionally fresh and had a buttery texture which literally melted in my mouth! The uni was so rich and creamy. Their rolls were also impressive! I’ll definitely be returning to try more dishes. Thank you for the quality food :)
